YAHUKIMO - The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, 17 July 2024, the Marines Task Forces held a Territorial activity in the form of Social Services at the Dekai Village, Dekai District, as an implementation of the Territorial Program entitled "Peaceful Papua".
The “Peaceful Papua” program is one of the priority programs of the Marines Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung. Creativity in providing a safe and peaceful situation in Papua is the top priority that the Task Forces continues to do. Through this program, the Soldiers in the Dekai District utilize their time carrying out regional security duties by conducting social services in the form of blood donation activity. The activity was held to commemorate the 62nd Anniversary of the Yonif 6 Marinir, the main body of the Marines Task Forces. On the other hand, this donation event was also held to increase the bloodstock at the Dekai Regional Hospital where the activity was conducted.
By prioritizing security aspects, blood donation can run safely and smoothly. With good synergy between the Soldiers and enthusiastic Dekai Hospital Health Workers, the mechanism for collecting data on donor participants, blood collection and the final phase can be carried out well. Responding to the blood donation, the Director of Dekai Hospital, dr. Glent M. Nurtanio, said "Thank you, Commander of the Marines Task Forces for initiating the Blood Donation at Dekai Regional Hospital. In addition to increasing the bloodstock at this hospital, we have also increased our enthusiasm because of the good communication and cooperation with the TNI Task Forces in Yahukimo."
"The initiative of the 6 Marines Task Forces to hold Social Services in the form of Blood Donation at the Dekai Regional Hospital, is a realization of the TNI's efforts to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders in the Task Area, in order to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
